ADMISSION RULES FOR THE SESSION  2017-2018

Admission in Honours and General subjects will be done strictly according to merit and seat availabilit  y.

For Honours and General Students 

 

1. ONLY ONLINE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. For application form the students are directed to visit our college website www.susilkarcollege.com. Online link will remain open from 31st May, 2017 to 10th June, 2017.
 

2. After the online submission, the students are directed to take a printout of the application form ( College copy + Student Copy) and deposit an application fee of 150/-.

3. Application fee of Rs. 150/- is to be deposited to the college’s bank account no. 32572000874 (IFS Code: SBIN0010538) at the STATE BANK OF INDIA, Champahati Branch, Champahati or any other SBI Branch with requisite Bank charge.

Alternatively, students can also pay the application fee online (using Credit card, debit card, Net banking etc.). But a hard copy of the transaction slip must be compulsorily submitted with the application form for it to be considered valid.  

4. The students have to submit the following documents to the college within 12th June, 2017.

a)  Printout of the application form signed by the candidates themselves and a stamp sized photograph of the candidate pasted in the allotted space.

b)College Copy and the Student Copy of the application form duly stamped by the bank. In case of students opting for online mode of payment, college and student copy of the application form must be accompanied by hard copy of the transaction slip.

c)Attested photocopy of  H.S. Admit Card and Mark sheet.

d)Attested photocopy of Madhyamik  Admit card or of equivalent examinations.

e)Photocopy of SC/ST/OBC certificate (obtained from SDO office)  should be duly attested by the head of the institution last attended.

Online application only will not be considered valid for preparing the MERIT LIST.

5.  On receiving the application form along with the relevant documents, the college will stamp the students’ copy and hand it over to the candidate. The candidates are advised to retain it for future correspondence. The last date for submitting the printouts of the online application is 12th June, 2017.

6. The merit list for all subjects will be published on the college website and notice board on 16.06.2017.

7. Admission to Honours and General Courses will start from 21st June, 2017.

8. All admission related information will be available on the college website and notice board in due course.

Eligibility Criteria

A. General Guidelines

i) Students who have obtained a minimum of 55% in subject, or 50% in aggregate along with 45% in subject, at the 10+2 level and have passed in English (a hundred marks paper) are eligible for applying for admission to the 1st year Hons. Class, subject to all C.U. rules.

ii) Candidates who have passed the 10+2 level examination with five subjects of which at least one shall be English, having full marks of 450 (four papers of hundred marks each + one paper of 50 marks) are also eligible to apply.

iii) For students qualifying from other Education Boards or Indian Universities, submission of migration certificate in original within one month from the date of admission in the college is compulsory. Otherwise his/her admission will be treated as cancelled.

iv) Students who have discontinued their studies once and wish to take it up again will have to submit a recommendation letter from a responsible, established member of the society. Such a letter must clearly state the reason for the gap in education and vouch for the candidate’s moral character.

v) Separate application forms must be submitted for Honours and General Streams and the application fee must be deposited separately for each form.

vi)  Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Vocational Examination in Business & Commerce conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.Com. (General) 1st year Course of Studies. Candidates coming from other vocational streams shall not be considered for admission.

vii) No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 5 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. 

 Specific Guidelines

i) For admission in B.A./B.Sc/ B.Com (Hons. & General) subjects, the students must have pass marks at the H.S. level in the subjects applied for.

ii) FOR CHEMISTRY HONOURS: A candiate shall be allowed to take-up Honours in Chemistry if the student has passed in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.

iii) FOR PHYSICS HONOURS: A candiate shall be allowed to take-up Honours in Physics if the student has passed in Physics and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.

iv) To have Mathematics as a combination subject in BSc (H) and BSc(G) courses, the student must pass Mathematics at the 10+2 level.

v) For Computer Science (CMSG), the student must have pass marks in Mathematics and Physics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application at the H.S. level.

vi) For Economics Hons. (ECOA), the student must have pass marks in Mathematics at the H.S. level.

vii) Students applying for B.Com courses must have passed Accountancy/ BO/ BEM/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Principals of Management.

viii) The merit list for honours students will be prepared on the basis of the aggregate of best four subjects. Marks of the compulsory additional/optinal elective subject Environmental Education/Studies (ENVE) shall not be a valid subject to be considered in the Best of Four. However, marks for Environmental Science (ENVS) studied as an elective subject will be considered valid.

ix) For students applying for General courses the merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the Best of four subjects. Marks in ENVS as compulsory subject shall not be taken into account.

Seat Availability

Reservation and Fee Structure

1. Reservation of seats for SC, ST, and OBC will be made as per Govt. rules.

 2. Aspiring Candidates with outstanding performance in Sports at the National level, State level or at least at the District level, will be given preference at the time of admission.

3. Fees once deposited will not be refunded.

4. After the publication of the merit list, students willing to take admission should collect the college fee book from the College office after submitting the students’ copy of the application form.

5. All fees are to be deposited to the A/C no. 32572000874 (IFS Code SBIN0010538), in favour of Susil Kar College, at State Bank of India, Champahati Branch, Champahati, Dist. South 24 Parganas.

Students opting for SANG will have to make a one-time deposit (once in 3 years) of Rs. 1000/- and students opting for PEDG will have to make a one-time deposit (once in 3 years) of Rs. 1000/-. Students opting for SANA and EDCA will have to deposit Rs. 1000 payable in 1st year; Rs. 1000 payable in 2nd year and Rs. 1000 payable in 3rd Year (Total Rs. 3000)

THE ADMISSION OF THE CANDIDATES WILL STAND AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED IF AT ANY STAGE OF THE ADMISSION PROCESS, ANY DISCREPANCY IS FOUND IN THE APPLICATION FORM INFORMATION OR IN THE DOCUMENTS PROVIDED. NO REQUEST IN THIS REGARD WILL BE ENTERTAINED.
